Mary Muthig

STAMFORD — Mary E. Muthig, 77, beloved wife of Gene Muthig, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. She was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Bloomville, the daughter of Kenneth (Skiddy) and Mary Skidmore. She married Gene Muthig on Sept. 20, 1953. She is survived by her husband, Gene of 59 years; a brother, Robert (Skiddy) and Linda Skidmore; her children, Diane and Kenneth Grant, Kenneth and Donna Muthig, Dennis and Diane Muthig and Bonnie and Gleason Stoesser; grandchildren, Robin Grant Bischoping, Ryan Grant, Jennifer Muthig Currie, Kayla Mason, Danyel Flannery, Jason, Michael, Regina and Nathan Stoesser; and nine great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her dog, "Scooter." Mary was a loving wife, mother and proud grandmother. She worked with her husband for many years operating their milk delivery business. She later retired from Audio Sears. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stamford Fire Department. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the Hobart Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bert More officiating.
