Michael Scott Bjorkander

Michael Scott Bjorkander, 34, of Andes, formerly of South Kortright, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Born on August 3, 1989 in Irvington, NY, Michael is the son of Scott A. and Tracy (Smith) Bjorkander.

Michael was a 2007 graduate of South Kortright Central School. He worked for over 11 years as a counselor at Camp Loyaltown in Hunter. Michael loved working with the campers and his fellow staff.

He enjoyed sports, especially cheering on the New York Yankees and following his favorite basketball player Shaquille O’Neil. He enjoyed collecting sports cards and enjoyed trivia.

Besides his parents, Michael is survived by his brothers: Alan Bjorkander of Walton, Jesse Bjorkander of Andes and Jack Bjorkander of Aurora, NY; uncles: John (Margaret) Bjorkander of Carmel, NY and Glen Bjorkander of Walton; aunts: Kelly (Morris) Lamberti and Lori Smith both of Irvington, NY; along with cousins and close friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, where a celebration of life and time of sharing will follow at 1PM.
