Monica Pavis

Monica Pavis, 63, of Jefferson, NY passed away on December 12, 2024 of natural causes.

Monica will be remembered for her love of friends and family, her generosity and intellect, her fondness of animals, nature, music and for being the best friend, sister and neighbor one could ask for. She was especially proud of her property and spent time maintaining it to the extent possible.  She was an excellent cook, often sharing her culinary adventures with others and frequently delivering food to those alone or in need especially during holidays.

Monica grew up on Staten Island, NY in a large active family with eight siblings, including her twin, Victor.  She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and the City University of New York on Staten Island where she studied Digital Technology. It has been said that she was the first female pole person in NY when working for the phone company in NYC.

She had a love of life that was infectious and had a knack for making others smile and laugh even when faced with immense challenges.

She was predeceased by her well-loved pets, Smokey, Peanut and Miss Molly; her twin Victor; brothers Vincent, Gerard and Matthew; and her mother and father, Mary and Robert Pavis. She is survived by her sisters Barbara Pavis Marino, Marian Pavis Carney and brothers Robert Pavis and Stephen Pavis as well as several nieces, nephews and exceptionally close friends.

A Celebration of Life is being held at The Gallery in Stamford, NY on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1pm. The address is 128 Main St, Stamford, NY 12167.
