Norbert L. Voellinger

Norbert Voellinger slipped from this world peacefully on Thursday, October 7, 2021, with his family and confessor, Fr. Michael Cambri, at his side, 48 days short of his 100th birthday. He was born to Rose (Schlageter) and William H. Voellinger on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1921, in Rochester, NY, where he lived for most of his life until moving to Stamford, NY, in 2005 to be closer to family. After graduating from Edison Technical High School in Rochester he entered the workforce and spent his career, except for serving in the Army during WWII, employed in the printing industry. He retired from Riverside Bookbindery in 1989 with the goal of spending as much time on the golf course as possible. He was also an accomplished stained glass artist. Norb married Elinor Merritt on July 4, 1947. Although they eventually divorced, Norb and Ellie remained faithful friends, visiting and playing cards every day until her death in 2018. He is survived by their 2 children Christine Hauser and Gerard Voellinger and his wife Denise, as well as 4 grandchildren Hannah Hauser, Andrew Hauser, Joshua Voellinger, Tamara (Voellinger) Kincaid and her husband James. The family wishes to thank the staff of The Pavilion at Robinson-Terrace on Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY, for their kindness and compassion during Norb’s final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for him at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford on Saturday, November 6, at 12 p.m. followed by a luncheon his daughter’s home in South Gilboa. Please send any donations to Sacred Heart Church or the charity of one’s choice. Please visit www.macarthurfh.com to share a condolence with Norb’s family.
