Randy E. Sherwood

Randolph Emerson Sherwood II, 74, died unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord on August 23, 2025.

Born on July 14, 1951 in Mount Holly, N.J. to Emerson and Helen (Copeland) Sherwood. He married his 9th grade sweetheart Kathleen Celi on August 24, 1974 in Burlington, N.J.

He attended Florida Institute of Technology and received an Associate of Science in Oceanography then transferred to Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, P.A. and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry. His passion was to purchase a farm and so he did in 1977 in Delhi, NY.

Randy, known for his golden heart and gentle spirit was the pillar to all who knew him. He was very humble and made people feel comfortable where ever he went.

A devoted husband to his beloved wife and best friend Kathy, Randy was the proud father of three sons Randolph III, Ryan and Timothy as well as a cherished grandfather. His family and religion always came first and his love for them was the foundation of his life.

Randy dedicated his life to hard work and his love for animals, spending many years as a dairy and hay farmer. After a career in farming he later delivered fuel oil in Delhi and beyond. In retirement Randy continued his love of motorhomes and Jeeps. He traveled with the love of his life across the country always returning home to summers on the farm with family.

Randy’s dedication, devotion, character, integrity, and dignity were like no other. Always intact and ready to help no matter how tired he was. Often falling asleep in his recliner and chewing his thumb. His devotion to his church and being an amazing Christian has helped pave way for many that he came in contact with. His laugh, smile (with that unforgettable mustache), hugs, kisses, spirit, love and care will never be forgotten but desperately missed.

Randy is survived by his wife of 51 years Kathy, sons and their wives, Randy (Marcy), Ryan (Michele), Tim (Lauren) Sherwood; grandchildren, Maddox, Mason, Riley, Henry and Wilkes; brother William (Theresa) Sherwood, sister-in-law and brother in-law Donna and Harold Pew, sister-in-law, Janet Celi, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Deidre Celi; and loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, NY. A celebration of Randy's life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 30 at the West Delhi Presbyterian Church, 45 Sutherland Road, Delhi, NY.
