Richard Hutson

Richard M. Hutson, 61, of DeLancey, passed away suddenly, Monday, April 16, 2018. Born in Margaretville, He was the son of the late Thomas R. and Ruth (Worden) Hutson. Richard was raised on the family dairy farm in DeLancey. He was a Delaware Academy graduate and attended SUNY Cobleskill. Mr. Hutson was the owner and operator of Huts Towing in Hamden. Richard was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his K-9 Companion, Harley. He loved motorsports and enjoyed go-cart racing. He was also a dedicated member of Delhi Fire Department. “Hut” as he was known to by many, had a rough and tough exterior but under that strong armor was a very caring person that would lend a hand and offer help to anyone in need, he was the type of man to offer you “the shirt off his own back”. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas in 1995 and his mother Ruth just this past January 10, 2018. Richard is survived by his wife Nancy Hutson of DeLancey; brothers: R. Thomas Hutson of DeLancey and James (Penny) Hutson of Virginia Beach; two close friends that Richard considered family: Matt (Liz) Costello of Delhi and Michael Cardillo of Hamden; and several cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 1-3PM on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Delhi Fire Department, Delview Terrace Ext., Delhi, where a memorial and Fire Dept.
