Richard Wayman

Richard D. Wayman, 77, of Hobart, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at his home. Born on April 26, 1941 in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Ella Mae (Rifenback) Wayman. Mr. Wayman was married to his beloved wife of 22 years, Marie E. Wayman until her passing on October 30, 2017. Richard enjoyed horses and worked on several farms in the area. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Richard was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his children: Ellie (Stephen) Curless of Stamford, Shelley (Phillip) Adams of Oneonta, Donald Wayman of Stamford and Michael (Debbie Whitehead) of Oneonta; sisters: Patricia VanNortwick of South Kortright, Nola Barlow of Greenville and Waneta Porter of Stamford; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave., Hobart with the Rev. Waylen Bray officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 10AM-11AM prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stamford Cemetery.
