Rina Jones

Rina M. Jones, 92, of Harpersfield, passed away at her home, on Sunday, July 19, 2015. She was born in Gilboa, Dec. 13, 1922, the daughter of Pergentino and Victorina (Baggaglino) Faoro. Rina graduated from Stamford Central School in 1939 and was married to George L. Jones on Oct. 13, 1951. She was predeceased by her husband, George Jones; parents; three brothers, Livio, Gino and Benjamin; and son-in-law, Edward Hunter. She is survived by her children, daughter, Marion (Terry) Daniels, daughter, Betty Jones; son, George (Moshgan) Jones; grandchildren, Jesse (Maribeth Capo) Daniels, Jan (Mike) Wellik and Nema and Mona Zohrehvand; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy Spriggs and Trey Wellik; many special sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Rina worked at Scintilla in Sidney as a bookkeeper and also at Sheffield's Creamery in Stamford. She was a lifetime member of the Stamford VFW Ladies Auxiliary, member of Sacred Heart Church and a Girl Scout Leader. She truly enjoyed sewing, quilting, was an avid reader, gardener, and a wonderful cook. The true career she always excelled at was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother her entire life. Calling hours will take place from 7 to 9 PM, Thursday, July 23, at the MacArthur Funeral Home in Hobart. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Church in Stamford. Burial will immediately follow in Fairview Cemetery.
