Rita M. Antilety

Rita Mary Antilety, 90, of Stamford, NY, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the Mountainside Residential Care Facility.

Born on July 7, 1936, in Southampton, New York, to Mary and Julius Zycowski, Rita dedicated her life to caring for others. After graduating from SHS and completing nursing school, she returned to work at Southampton Hospital.

Rita was a devoted community volunteer. She ran for Southampton Village Trustee in 1980, served as Southampton Beach Warden from 1980 to 1982, and was a founding member of the Long Island Beach Buggy Association alongside her beloved husband, Jack. An accomplished surfcaster, she earned the respect of fellow anglers as one of the pioneering women in the sport on Long Island's East End.

After moving to Stamford in 1990, Rita and Jack continued their commitment to community service by volunteering and serving on the Board of Directors for the CORE Values Shop.

Rita was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and is survived by her son, John; her daughter, Melissa; and her son-in-law, Brian.

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 11AM until 12PM followed by a service at 12PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive Stamford, NY 12167. A reception will follow.

Those wishing to honor Rita's memory are encouraged to do what she loved most: spend time with family and friends, lend a helping hand to someone in need, cast a line into the surf, and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors.
