Robert F. Adair, 90, of East Meredith, NY, passed away on Thursday morning, July 23, 2026, at Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Delhi, NY.
Born on July 23, 1936, in Oneonta, NY, Robert was the son of the late Maurice and Frances Adair.
He proudly served in the US Navy from 1954-1958, while in the Navy Robert played the saxophone in a military band.
Robert worked for AT&T telecommunications as an electrical technician traveling to various connection stations doing infrastructure repairs and maintenance for several years leading up to his retirement.
He and his wife, Gloria purchased their home on Turnpike Road in East Meredith, where he enjoyed operating the farm, raising beef livestock and maple sugaring, eventually building their retirement home above the farm overlooking the valley. Bob and Gloria often enjoyed traveling with their camping trailer, visit places all over the country including a six-week excursion to New Mexico.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by a daughter: Robin Ronchi.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Gloria (Daddy) Adair: son: Michael Adair; stepchildren: William (Brenda) Wright, Joseph (Amy) Wright and Lisa (Scott Collins) Wright; one sister: Beverly (Rudy) Ballard; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Robert’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services, a private burial will take place at East Meredith Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
His family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff that cared for him at the Delhi Nursing and Rehab Center over the past few months, their care, kindness and friendship were very comforting.
