Roger D. Brown

Roger Dowie Brown, 81, of Delhi, NY, passed away early Sunday morning, October 18, 2026 at his home.

Born on November 29, 1944, Roger was the son of the late Donald H. and Mabel (Dowie) Brown.

He graduated from Delaware Academy, class of 1963. Roger went to work immediately after graduation for the Village of Delhi Water Dept, where he worked for 38 years, retiring in July 2001 as Water Superintendent. He also was the manager of Leisure Village Park for 29 years, until his retirement in 2019. He could often be seen riding a lawn mower and smoking his pipe. Over the years Roger also worked for RH Lewis and Delhi Motor Company detailing vehicles.

He also was a former volunteer fireman with the Delhi Fire Department.

Roger married Fae Estus in July 1964, they were married 62 years. Roger and Fae built their family together including two sons; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Roger is survived by his sons: Don (Rhonda) and Mike (Faith); grandchildren: Erin (Matt), Jordan, Jamie (Esther), Meredith and Amber; a brother Doug (Linda); brothers-in-law: Ray (Linda) Estus, Donald (Marylou) Estus and David Estus.

Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by three sisters, and two sisters-in-law.

Calling hours will be held 1PM – 3PM on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, NY 13753. Private burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, NY.
