Ruth L. Darling, 90, of DeLancey, passed away on Friday evening, November 9, 2018 at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi. Born on July 13, 1928 in Andes, She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mildred (Clark) Dowie. Mrs. Darling was married to Robert Darling, who predeceased her on May 15, 2007. She was co-owner/operator the family dairy of Dar-View Farms in DeLancey, which continues to be family owned and operated by her sons. She was also tax collector for the Andes Central School for many years and worked on the Town of Andes board of elections. Ruth was a gifted cook and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, she also enjoyed dancing, crocheting, crafts and embroidery. Her greatest joy was her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons: Russ (Linda) Darling and Jim (Laura Emery) Darling both of DeLancey; grandchildren: Brad (Jackie) Darling, Amber (Jason) Darling-Mondore, Charlie (Chloe Andrews) Darling, Dawson Darling, Katie (Ryan Hunter) Darling and JJ Darling; great-grandchildren: Laney Mondore, Darbey Mondore, Brooke Darling and Finnley Darling; and a niece: Carol Tuttle Besides her husband, Ruth was predeceased by her sister: Gladys Tuttle; and a brother: Russell Dowie. Friends are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday at the Cabin Hill Presbyterian Church, 7615 County Hwy 2, DeLancey, followed by burial at Andes Cemetery.
