Ruth "Mary" Whiteman

Ruth “Mary” Whiteman, 10/26/1928-10/20/2023 longtime resident of Hobart, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep in Longmont CO at the age of 94.

Mary had a loving spirit for family and friends, a quiet strength and could easily bring a smile to those that knew her with her quick wit. Mary loved life. She enjoyed music, the simple natural beauty of every day, her gardening and flowers, and watching the birds.

She is survived by her sister Freida Snyder, Fly Creek NY, her son John Whiteman, Lafayette CO, daughter Carol Grace, Homer AK. She is also survived by her grandchildren: James Grace, NY NY; Teralynn Wortman, King George VA; Tyler Morris, Homer AK; Michael Grace, Arlington TX; Katie Whiteman Boulder CO; Maia Whiteman, Salt Lake City, UT; Erich Reinhardt, Phoenix AX; and Maggie Reinhardt, Bozman MT. Mary also is survived by 3 great-grandchildren.

She will be missed but she was ready to go forward. She would want us to celebrate her life, her role in all of our lives, and remember her as the loving and caring person she was.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be announced. Due to a error by the funeral home this obituary was omitted from our online memorials in December of 2023.
