Sherry Key

Sherry A. Key of Township Rd, Hobart, since 1975, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on February 21, 2017 at Robinson Terrace while on Hospice Care. Sherry was born on February 23, 1942 in Missouri, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Ethel Lois (Farmer) Bergloff. She attended Ilion High School and married George E. Key, Jr. on April 11, 1959. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren being a full-time mother and living wife for 57 years. She enjoyed family outing, dancing, cooking, gardening, reading and was often found with the coffee pot on while working a crossword puzzle. Sherry was predeceased by her son: Martin E. Key; a sister: Edna Farber; and a brother: Gilbert Bergloff. Besides her husband, George of Hobart, Sherry is survived by her children: Nancy and Bonnie Key of Stamford, Judith (Alan) Hargrove of Jacksonville, FL, William (Althea) Key of Halcottsville, Joe Key of Fultonville and Leon Key of E. Meredith; twelve grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jeanne (George) Gottung of St. Johnsville and Martha (Roger) Treen of Ilion; brothers: Neil (Odette) Bergloff of Hershey, PA and Steve (Sara) Bergloff of Pamplin, VA; one aunt: Virginia (Faye) Kattato of Frankford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
