Shirley D Whispell

Shirley D. Whispell, 84, of Hobart, passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Born on February 24, 1938 in Hobart, Shirley was the daughter of the late Theodore and Edith (Smith) Whispell.

Shirley enjoyed trips to play bingo, playing Take 5 and watching her “hot westerns” on TV. She was a member of the church and the Stamford Seniors Club, however Shirley’s greatest passion was her family, she has been a caretaker for most of her family and enjoyed “spoiling” her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her daughter: Frances McMullen; brother Clarence Whispell; and sister: Betty Mott.

She is survived by her granddaughter: Tara (Gordon) May of Hobart; grandson: Michael McMullen of Davenport; great-grandchildren: Harper, Amara and Kamryn; sister: Helen Havrish; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Locust Hill Cemetery, Hobart.
