Suzanne C. Tucker

Suzanne C. Tucker, 62, of Andes, NY, left this world on September 12, 2025, in the peace of her home, surrounded by the fierce and tender love of her family.

Suzanne was born on May 3, 1963, in Montour Falls, NY. She graduated from Odessa-Montour, attended SUNY Cortland, and received her Master’s in Education from SUNY Oneonta. Suzanne moved to Delhi, NY, and began her career as an Elementary Art Teacher at Delaware Academy, where she taught countless students to embrace their creativity.

In 1987 she married the love of her life, Daniel Tucker, and they built a beautiful home in Andes, NY, where they welcomed their two children, Danielle and Connor, into the world. Their marriage was defined by their extraordinary love and care for each other.

In 2001, Danny passed away from melanoma. Shortly after, in 2004, Suzanne began her battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Despite the pain that came with her 21-year journey with cancer, her strength allowed her to enjoy many good years.

Sue’s quilts — which will serve most prominently as a reminder of her vibrant life — have expansive scapes filled with colorful motion reminiscent of the Catskills she hiked, the gardens she grew, and akin to her glamour and fashion. Drives down Fall Clove, where she lived, bring memories of family walks filled with character creation like Queen Elleinad, and King Ronnoc. Taking in seasonal changes, evoking home, in the house she and her husband built; her memory will carry down the Clove before departing into the intrigue and hidden beauties beyond.

Her life was stolen from carrying her body further, with many travels still desired and moments never realized. Brief are waves receding at the warm beaches she retreated to, but new waves rise as people gather to anneal memories. Her efforts, many self-determined in the wake of love lost, were stretched, but somehow with depth immeasurable like the waters she drifts towards. She knew she had to cherish time like the love she possessed to fit it all. The love that brings us back to her. Together we won’t have to look hard to see her everywhere.

Suzanne is predeceased by her husband, Daniel Tucker; father, Richard Eugine Collins; stepfather, Carl Jensen; mother-in-law, Mary Tucker; father-in-law, Howard Tucker; and sister-in-law, Maryellen Hamilton.

Suzanne is survived by her two children Danielle Tucker (Alexander Pagerie), and Connor Tucker (Allison Heavey); her mother, Virginia Jensen; her brother, Richard Collins (Darlene); niece Seneca Collins; her many in-laws, Jim Hamilton (Peggy), Howard Jay Tucker, Stephen Tucker (Alice), Richard Tucker (Marie), Sharon Tucker, Allen Tucker (Krista), Edward Tucker (Lyna), and Kathleen Tucker; as well as by her many nieces and nephews and their children. Sue also leaves behind many treasured friendships.

Friends and relatives are invited to call from 4PM-7PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, NY.

A celebration of life and display of Sue’s quilts will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Camp Nubar, 5939 Fall Clove Road, Delancey, NY 13752.
