JEFFERSON Theresa "Terry" A. King, 69, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 7, 1944 in Manhattan, the daughter of Michael and Grace (Ganci) Cassano. She married Christopher King on June 29, 1974. A long-time Jefferson resident, Terry was very active in the community. She volunteered for the Jefferson Fire Department Auxiliary and served on the Jefferson School Board for over 10 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother and attended all school events and functions for her family. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her for being a phenomenal cook. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Chris King of Jefferson; her children, Michael & Jennifer Goronsky of Albany, Frank Goronsky and Kelly Micha of Stamford, and Danielle King of Albany; grandchildren, Alexis, Michael, and Ryan Goronsky; a brother, Louis & Gloria Cassano of Smithtown, Long Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins; many dear friends in the Jefferson and surrounding communities; and her beloved canine companion, Roxy. She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Anthony Louis Cassano. Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 40 Cornell Ave, Hobart. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, with Rev. Michael Cambi officiating. Burial will follow the service in Jefferson Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson.
