Vasilios Dimopoulos

Vasilios “Billy” Dimopoulos, 65, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 6, 1953 in Greece, the son of the late John and JoAnne (Maniati) Dimopoulos. Billy came to the United States on May 21, 1985 and passed away 34 to the day following. He worked for many years as an iron worker in Queens, NY Billy was a very hardworking and generous man. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all that nature had to offer. He was married to his beloved wife Alexandra (Rodriguez) Dimopoulos. They moved to this area 10 years ago, first settling in the Worcester then moving to Stamford about 3 years ago. Besides his wife, Billy is survived by his children: Nichole and Sophia of Stamford and Ianna of Greece; his close friend Teddy and his family of New York City. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford. A Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday morning at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption, 4752 State Rt. 23, Windham, NY 12496. Burial will follow at Harpersfield Center Cemetery, Col.
