Virginia Adair

Virginia Dent Adair, 96, of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Robinson Terrace, Stamford, NY.

Born on August 1, 1928, in Hobart, NY, Virginia was the daughter of the late Ralph and Donna (Dent) Dales.

She was a registered nurse, serving several hospitals over the years including Albany Medical Center and the former Bathgate Hospital in Stamford, and for many years served as the Stamford Central School Nurse until her retirement.

Virginia was married to Leonard Adair who passed away in 2002.

She collected dolls and enjoyed decorating her home, she loved to go to garage sales and was especially proud of her winter home in Florida, where she wintered for many years.

Besides her parents and husband, Virginia was predeceased by her sisters: Eleanor McMurdy and Vivian Bailey.

She is survived by her children: James L. Adair of Windham and Joanne S. Adair of Stamford, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins, including her special cousin: Dale Morrison of Mt. Upton.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 15 Buntline Drive, Stamford, NY. Private graveside services will be held for the family.
