Wayne L. Jester

Wayne L. Jester, 74, of East Meredith, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 15, 2024, at his home.


Born on October 31, 1949, in Meredith, Wayne was the son of the late Wayland F. and Aileen Maude (Penney) Jester.


Wayne worked for many years on various farms in the East Meredith area.


He was a valued 25-year member of the East Meredith Fire Department.


Wayne loved puzzles, lawn mowing and woodworking. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting until his health declined. He also had an extensive collection of model tractors; antique John Deere tractors were his favorite. He also loved animals, especially his pet dogs over the years.


Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his siblings: Marie Broadwell, Barrett Jester and Micheal Jester.


He is survived by his siblings: Onna Behear of Delhi, Marvin (Evelyn) Jester of Jefferson, David (Robin) Jester of Greenville, NY, Tanya (Timothy) Pernice of Meridale, NY, Mary (Joe Miosek) Halstead of Schyler Lake, NY, and Melody Wright of Davenport, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.


A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held from 2-5PM on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the East Meredith Fire Hall, 6192 County Route 10, East Meredith, NY; where a firematic service and last call will be held at 2PM. Spring burial will be in the East Meredith Cemetery.


In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the East Meredith Fire Dept.
