Wayne F. Williams

Wayne F. Williams, 78, of Hobart, NY, passed away at his home on Friday morning, September 4, 2026.

Born on October 9, 1947, in Rock Rift (Town of Walton, NY), he was the son of the late Ian and Joyce (Schlafer) Williams.

Wayne proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969.

He operated the former PVW Farm and Recreation in Hobart, a local Oliver Tractor and Rupp snowmobile dealer. Wayne then went on to operate his own dairy farm and then spent 20 years as a mechanic for the New York State DOT in Cobleskill leading up to his retirement.

Wayne enjoyed spending time “puttering” in his garage, working on machinery and equipment, if Wayne couldn’t get the part to fix something he would simply make it. He also enjoyed working on and restoring his own Oliver Tractors, and over the years he also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Wayne enjoyed their many camping trips as a family, he loved road trips and winters in Florida during his retirement.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Carl, Ian and Charlene; along with brothers in law: Robert McIntosh and Zachery LeRoy.

He is survived by his wife: Theresa L. Williams of Hobart; children: Frank Slawson of Otego, Wayne Williams of Hobart and Brent (Allison) Williams of Laurens; grandchildren: Leland, Paul, Emily, Olivia, Cailyn, Ryleigh and Cole; sisters-in-law: Beverly McIntosh, Rosemary LeRoy and Melinda Williams; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In accordance with Wayne’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
