William Barlow

William "Bill" Barlow, Jr, 67, of Delhi, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning, December 6, 2014 at O'Connor Hospital, after being stricken at home. Born on August 13, 1947in Roscoe, he was the son of the late William and Jane Barlow. Bill lived in Roscoe until he was 13 and the family moved to Walton. He was married to Nancy Dunbar Barlow on April 7, 1973 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Delhi. Mr. Barlow was employed at Dellwood for many years, he also worked for various other companies and retired from Parts Plus in Delhi after 17 years of service. Bill was a 33 year member of the Delhi Fire Department where he was an active longtime member of the Fire Police. He enjoyed hunting and helped to educate the next generation of hunters by teaching hunter safety courses around the area. Bill was also a crossing guard for Delhi, he enjoyed making sure that all the kids were safe traveling to and from Delaware Academy. Besides his loving wife Nancy, Bill is survived by a son, James "Bucky" Barlow of Delhi; his twin brother James (Ellen) Barlow of Walton and another set of twin brothers, Dave (Trudy) Barlow and Dick (Christie) Barlow both of Delhi and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4PM until 7PM on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, where members of the Delhi Fire Dept. are gathering at 6:30PM. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Delhi Fire Dept. PO Box 405, Delhi, NY 13753.
