William Brosi Iii

William Brosi III, 89, of Hobart passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at home following a short illness.

Bill was born on March 24, 1934 in New York, NY, the son of the late William and Esther (Cleary) Brosi Jr. He was a graduate of Newtown HS and Farleigh-Dickinson College.

On January 22, 1955, he married the former Marilyn Schmidt, a blessed union of 68 years. In 1975 they moved to Hobart where they bought a farm and raised beef, chickens, and sheep over many years, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Bill was a Professor at SUNY Delhi in Accounting and Business. He also had a private accounting and financial services business for 66 years in Orange and later, Delaware counties retiring at the age of 85. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Hobart, Delaware River Lodge #439 F & AM and Cornerstone Lodge #231 F & AM Monroe, NY, and the Hobart Fire Department.

Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife: Marilyn Brosi; son: William (Elizabeth) Brosi of Delhi; daughter: Barb (Doug) Scheibling of Wallkill; son: Timothy Brosi of Hobart; grandchildren: Ryan, Dusty, Kylie, Megan, Corbin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandson: William Brosi V; brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Patricia Brosi; sister and brother-in-law: Loretta and Jack Ryan.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1 PM at the Hobart United Methodist Church, 204 Maple Avenue, Hobart, NY.
