William E. Buel

Willaim E. Buel, 50, of Delhi, NY, departed this earth on Friday, July 17, 2026 surrounded by his family at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center after a short but courageous battle with ALS.

Born on August 26, 1975, in Delhi, NY, Bill was the son of William Louis and Mary Jane Buel.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Religious Program Body Guard to the Chaplain. He then went to work for the pharmaceutical manufacturer in Hobart, NY for 25 years.

Bill is survived by his parents: Bill and Mary Jane Buel; two sons: Wesley and Wyatt; his girlfriend and partner in crime: Jenny; and his many friends and family,

He was predeceased by his grandparents: Louis and Anna Buel and John and Mable Jubar.

Bill was a devoted father to his sons, Wesley Sean and Wyatt James and took the most pleasure in spending all the time he could with them. He also enjoyed time with his family, loved ones, Jenny, co-workers and playing Magic Cards with his friends.

He would do anything for his family and friends and will always be knows as a big “Teddy Bear” or “Gentle Giant” who no one ever saw angry or uptight.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 1-4 PMat the Delhi Fire Department, 140 Delview Extension, Delhi, NY.  A graveside service will be with the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers his family requests contributions to the ALS Association or a charity of your choice.
