William Curneen

~~William “Billy” Curneen died peacefully in Westchester, New York on June 14, 2017 at the age of 77. He is survived by his five sons, Peter, Michael, Sean, Court, and Rory; siblings, Mary, Margaret, Jane, and Patrick, as well as 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Curneen. Billy was born on May 21, 1940 in New York, NY to William Curneen and Mary (Rooney) Curneen. He graduated from New York University in 1965 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Billy dedicated over 50 years of his life to his work as a Social Worker and Psychotherapist, often providing care to some of the most vulnerable populations, frequently on a pro bono basis. He possessed an incredible wit and enjoyed making those around him laugh. He was an individual who loved to talk about his children and help others.
