William M. "Bill" Hansen

William M. “Bill” Hansen, 69, of East Meredith, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on July 21, 1956 in Bangor, ME, Bill was the son of the late William W. and Carol (Clement) Hansen.

Bill proudly served in the US Navy from 1975 until his honorable discharge in 1981.

He worked for over 30 years at Oneonta City School District and retired as Maintenance Supervisor, Bill went on to work for the last 5 years with Delhi Telephone Company following his retirement.

Dedicated to his community, Bill served as an EMT and EMS Captain at the East Meredith Fire Department.

In his free time Bill spent time with his dog, Max, liked raising chickens, driving his Corvette Convertible and spending time relaxing in his hot tub. Bill also enjoyed spending time with friends, socializing and always enjoyed a good party.

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Hansen of East Meredith; siblings: Jim (Lorraine) Hansen, Kathy Hansen and Jeanne Hansen, all of Long Island; niece and nephew: Jamie and David Hansen; along with his many close friends.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 12-4 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the East Meredith Fire Hall, where military honors and a firematic service will be held at 12PM.
