William M. Reed

William M. Reed of Mohawk, N.Y. died on February 16, 2026 peacefully in his sleep.

He was born on May 23, 1939 in Conesville, NY to Burr M and Dorithy A. (Fink) Reed.

He worked for 40 years as a machinist with General Electric. He enjoyed his retired time playing golf with friends and family, laughing and joking, and reading (especially John Jake books).

A US Marine, William Mace Reed, served his country as a Lance Corporal before being honorably discharged as a Vietnam war veteran. He was also a member of the Margaretville VFW, active member of the Roxbury American Legion, and once a Commander of the Napa Valley American Legion in California.

He was predeceased by his father: Burr Mattice Reed; his mother: Dorothy Anna (Fink) Reed; former spouse: Joyce Arlene Davis (Reed) O'Neil; daughter: Karna Yovonne Reed; son: William David Reed; brother: David Reed; and sister: Thelma (Reed) Major.

He was married in Grand Gorge, NY to Joyce Arlene Davis on January 8, 1966, until they parted ways on in October of 1981.

Survivors include his son: Jeffery William Reed of Mohawk, NY with partner Paula Alexander and her children: Andrew, Heather, and Christopher Jordan., grandchildren- Patric David Reed of Maine, Mathew Scott Reed and wife Blake Reed of Maine blessing him 3 great grandchildren Matthew Lee, James Jace, and Alyss Lynn Reed – several Nieces and Nephews.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
