William M. Wright

William M. Wright, 63, of DeLancey, NY passed away on Thursday evening, July 2, 2026, at O’Connor Hospital following a long-term illness.

Born on August 26, 1962, in Delhi, he was a son of the late John Edmund and Florence (Eadie) Wright.

In his earlier years William worked as a heavy equipment operator, he later became a mechanic for Mountain Transport in Hamden, NY

He was a member of the Hamden Hill Ridge Riders snowmobile club, Vice President of the Basin and Terry Clove Community Hall, and worked alongside his wife Caroline in the Town of Hamden Historian’s office.

William enjoyed working on the farm, often haying and dabbling in his “Maple Shack”. He enjoyed tractors and machinery, he was also a MOPAR fan, owning several Dodge Trucks over the years. His greatest passion was his family; he truly enjoyed attending family reunions but most of all he was a proud “Pa-Pa” to his four grandchildren.

Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his siblings: Jane, John, George, Jim and Jay Wright.

He is survived by his wife: Caroline (Conklin) Wright of DeLancey; two sons: George A (Sabra) Wright of Downsville and Dylan Wright of DeLancey; four grandchildren: Lyllian, Levi, Laken and Leo; siblings: Gerald Wright, June (Mel) Ruff, Kathy (Mike) Drew; his father and mother-in-law: Charlie and Peggy Conklin of DeLancey; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate William’s life 1PM - 4PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Delhi, NY 13753, with a reception to follow at the Delhi Fire Department Hall.
